Word of Warning about custom Roms (4.4.2 - 4.4.4) on the WiKo Rainbow
If been looking for a stable, well tested and reliable ROM for the Wiko Rainbow recently. I came around a lot and found out two very annoying facts. First: The up-to-date original 4.4.2 firmware from Wiko is bugged. While it seems that the battery lifetime increases, it horribly gets less in reality. To that...
...the battery status indicator gets corrupted too. It tends to charge even when it's 100% and it also tends to tell you, your phone is at 20% and suddenly wents black off. This two problems are widly know through the community and WiKo doesnt seem to have a plan at all.
So it's really annoying to see that almost all so called 4.4.4 ROMs are fakes. Re-skinned and themed 4.4.2 ROMs. They still got the old bugs but in shiny new clothes. It got quite silent around when I started to ask for real version numbers.
As mentioned most versions are just minorly customized. Mostly skinned and themed - not much work on the base... And since most versions hseems to have the same fathers and mothers in law, they do keep their bugs and spread them around.
But there is hope! I found two versions which are actually 4.4.4 builds. They both got the GPS-bug yet but I started to ask around a bit at XDA and maybe I can find someone interested and helpful. You can read about that versions HERE.
** You should also be aware of people who say they are sending sms messages to india or something without permission. Seemed to be harmless but I didn't read any deeper into that for now.
